Info Sci PhD candidate Xiao Ma – based at the Cornell Tech campus in New York City – was recently named a Facebook fellowship finalist. A member of the Social Technologies Lab, Xiao uses multidisciplinary methods to better understand self-disclosure, trust, identity and reputation.
Now in its seventh year, the Facebook Fellowship program is designed to recognize and support the most talented computer science and engineering doctoral students from universities around the world.
Also of note: Xiao is among the coauthors of a forthcoming paper, "Self-disclosure and Perceived Trustworthiness of Airbnb Host Profiles", that received an honorable mention for Best Paper at CSCW '17.
