Cornell Computing and Information Science fosters and thrives on collaborative, cross-disclipinary connections among faculty and students in CIS's three departments: computer science, information science, and statistical science. By extension, CIS boasts a strong, collaborative core of graduate student organizations that enriches the PhD experience through planned talks, networking events, and much more. Graduate student organizations within CIS are:

ISGSA [Information Science Graduate Student Association] – The Information Science Graduate Student Association provides PhD students with representation in academic activities at the department and university levels and also sponsors events for social and professional development.

PACT [PhD Students at Cornell Tech] – PhD Students at Cornell Tech (PACT) is a student organization dedicated to matters concerning the community of PhD students at the Cornell Tech campus in New York City. PACT also serves to facilitate community events, including those both academic and social.

SGS [Statistics Graduate Society] – SGS aims to make all aspects of graduate student life - academic, social, and professional - more enjoyable, and is responsible for representing graduate students' concerns to the department, graduate school, and CIS.

CGSO [Computer Science Graduate Organization] – The Computer Science Graduate Organization, or CSGO, is the field organization for the computer science department representing computer science graduate students to other entities in Cornell. It also helps plan, organize, and fund events for the department.
