Igor Vamos is an internationally renowned artist and activist, Full Professor, and Graduate Program Director at Rensselaer. From his early work with the Barbie Liberation Organization and gwbush.com, to his current work with the Yes Men, Vamos has used the Internet as a platform for political and economic satire, as documented in countless media appearances and several feature theatrical releases made about his work, as well as exhibitions in major museums. Indeed, while Vamos may be viewed as a pioneer in online disinformation, he describes his work as "identity correction," a form of identity theft aimed at countering spin and increasing truth online and in the media. Vamos will give an overview of his work, and share not-yet-seen footage from recent interventions.
