Briana Vecchione is a second-year Information Science Ph.D. student interested in the measurement and evaluation of AI/ML systems, with particular attention to structural issues of algorithmic bias in public policy and human-centered domains. She has worked as a research scientist or fellow at Spotify and Microsoft and is also supported by a Google Women Techmakers Scholarship. Much of her time is spent as an affiliate of AI Policy and PracticeInformation Science Graduate Student AssociationMechanism Design for Social Good, and Graduate Women in Science. She's also been a feature, keynote, or speaker in spaces like Bloomberg, Facebook, Sony, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
