Job Description

Nicole is the Associate Director of the Ph.D. program in the Department of Information Science in The Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science. In this capacity, Nicole supports the Director of Graduate Studies and our Ph.D. students both on the Ithaca N.Y. campus and the Cornell Tech campus located in NYC. She provides academic advising, student life advising, meets with prospective students, processes admissions into the program, and helps students meet their milestones and degree requirements to graduate. She also works closely with many offices on campus especially the Graduate School, University Registrar, and the Bursar. She also works with the Student Services staff at the Tech campus located in NYC.

Wednesday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 524A Rhodes Hall

Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Remote

Background

Nicole is a native of Ithaca (and Trumansburg), New York. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Cornell. Before joining the Information Science Department in fall 2024, Nicole served as the Assistant Director of Computer Science Undergraduate Advising at Cornell for 24.5 years. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and enjoying great food, working in her at-home pottery studio, gardening, and (sometimes grudgingly) working on the never-ending projects that come with stewarding a c.1850 home in the 21st century.
